Prior to joining Yen Capital, Carl was the global CFO of First Source Solutions, a leading BPO services and solutions provider. In the past, he has held several senior positions in large Indian and International companies. He was the Chief Financial Officer of Jet Airways where he was instrumental in completing the company's local IPO of USD 450 million, raising debt of over USD 2.5 Billion, acquisition of Sahara Airlines (USD 400 Million). He also introduced Fuel Hedging and Risk Management practices for Foreign Exchange and Interest Rates.
Prior to Jet, he was the Country Head, Corporate Banking at Deutsche Bank and Director on the board of Deutsche Asset Management. At Deutsche Bank, he successfully realigned the bank's strategy in India to focus on large Corporations and Institutions.
He has also held the position of Chief Financial Officer in Essar Oil Limited, an Indian integrated oil and gas company, part of the Essar group.
Carl has also held several key positions at The Chase Manhattan Bank including Asia Pacific Area officer, Vice President & Manager Corporate Finance and Country Manager (India, Sri-Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives).
He specializes in arranging large amounts of capital, managing IPOs and in particular risk management through derivatives with an industry focus on Oil, Telecom and Infrastructure He holds B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and an MBA from the AIM, Manila.
Sunil is a 30 year Banking & Finance veteran and the Founder of Yen Capital. He started his career with Citibank in their Consumer Services Group and thereafter moved to Standard Chartered Bank where he helped launch personal banking in India.
In 1997, he joined Deutsche Bank AG and held several senior positions. He was the Head Private Banking for Western India, Country Head India - Financial Resources Group; Chief Representative and Head Global Banking, Eastern India and Senior Vice President in Corporate and Investment banking. He has also served on the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) at Deutsche Bank. He was responsible for raising more than US$ 500 Million in the International retail bonds markets. He was also involved with several landmark M&A transactions such as the Bharat Forge acquisition of CDP Germany and Unilever acquisition of Rossel Tea.
A Corporate Finance specialist, his areas of expertise include early stage investments, debt and equity syndication, private equity, international listings, mergers & acquisitions and credit and transaction structuring. His sector specialization is in Renewable Energy, Healthcare, Real Estate and Education. He has served on several boards as a director and is currently a Member of the Board of Management of Symbiosis Society and a member of the Finance Committee of the Symbiosis International Deemed University.
He holds a BA (Economics) from the Fergusson College, University of Pune and an MBA from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management.
Ravi's professional career of 36 years features a variety of roles and functions across industry sectors with multi-national companies like Piaggio and Bosch. He has strong skills in Business Strategy formulation and execution; Process orientation, Structured Financial planning and control, M&A and Compliance.
He has strong exposure to global and multi-cultural business environments, particularly European, American and Japanese. He has detailed knowledge of Commercial functions, Finance, IT, Corporate Affairs & HR
An Engineer from IIT Bombay and an MBA from JBIMS, Ravi has served as a member of several management boards.
In his career of 35 years, Subhash has worked extensively in the finance functions of domestic as well as multi-national organizations in India and in the Gulf, across diverse industries, including manufacturing, forging, auto ancillary, food processing and civil construction. He has in-depth knowledge of Financial and Management Accounting, hands-on experience in Direct and Indirect Taxation, first hand experience of Mergers & Acquisitions and Carve out of businesses as well as an extensive exposure to global and multi-cultural business environments. He has a post-graduate degree in Commercial Studies and is a Member of the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants.
Currently focused on founding a social enterprise which aims to help alleviate water availability and waste water disposal problems through development of energy-efficient technology. Start-up is in prototyping phase.
Suhas is a senior leader who has built and managed an extremely large services business and team as the GBS Service Leader, Asia Pacific for IBM. He has deep experience in transforming his own organization and team whilst continuing to successfully deliver client engagements. As the GBS Service Leader for Asia Pacific, he was responsible for the IBM GBS P&L for AP.
At Yen Capital, Suhas leads all technology related investments. He holds a B.A. in Economics and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.
A career banker , Satish started his banking career with ANZ Grindlays, and has over 25 years of corporate and investment banking experience across India and the Middle East. His experience includes leadership positions in Deutsche Bank, Barclays Bank & ING. He was also the CEO of BankMuscat Kuwait. He has strong domain knowledge of investment banking, trade/transaction finance and corporate banking. He holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh USA
An MBA from the University of Oxford, Rachit brings in more than five years of experience in Investment Banking and Private Equity. Prior to his association at Yen, he has worked with Nomura, Global Environment Fund and Haitong. Rachit focuses on financial diligence and transaction structuring. An avid sports enthusiast, he has been a part of the Rowing and Rugby teams at college.
Mr. Sahasrabuddhe was previously the MD & CEO of ING Bank NV, India and the India Head of Treasury at American Express Bank . He is a Foreign Exchange, Money Markets and Derivatives expert and sits on several prestigious boards. Today he is a much sought after independent consultant in India and the Middle East. He is a Chartered Accountant and an alumnus of the ING Business School at Heemskerk in the Netherlands.
Mr. May is the Managing Partner of City of Westminster Corporate Finance LLP, a UK based consulting firm since April 2008. He was previously a Senior Partner at Horwath Clark Whitehill, a UK accountancy firm, for 17 years, including 8 years on the Managing Board. He is also active in UK politics and is the current Policy Director and Deputy Chairman of Small Business Bureau, a lobbying group to UK government. Mr. May is a Chartered Accountant. He did his post-graduate studies at the University of Bath Management School, England.
Mr. Goel was the Principal & CEO of India Development & Real Estate Advisors. He has over 30 years of experience in Real Estate, including Development, Project & Property Management, Investments & Private Equity, Advisory - Research, Feasibility & Valuation, Transaction. Prior to that he was the C.E.O. of LICHFL Asset Management Co. Pvt. Ltd. and Chairman of its Investment Committee. LICHFL ALC is promoted by LIC Housing Finance Ltd and LIC of India. Before that between 2005 & 2010, He was the C.E.O. of DHFL Venture Capital India Pvt. Ltd. (DHFL-VC) and Chairman of its Investment Committee. Mr. Goel is a B. Tech (Civil Engineering), from Indian Institute of Technology [ I.I.T ] , Kanpur. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Valuers.
After starting his career with Tata Steel in 1977, S. Vaidyanathan successfully transitioned to banking holding senior positions with Citibank / Citigroup from 1986 to 2008 where he was responsible for Project Management, Asset Management of India Real Estate Investments. Mr. Vaidyanathan is based in Bangalore.
